The Education Department has introduced a psychometric test for Class X girl students at government schools to analyse their mental abilities, interests and personality traits so that they could be guided to make informed career choices.

Education Minister Harjot Bains said 93,819 girl students will be covered by March 31 under the initiative, for which a total of Rs. 6.56 crore has been allocated by the State Council of Educational Research and Training. To ensure its smooth implementation, district-level committees have been formed under the leadership of district education officers (secondary) across the state. These committees will oversee the testing process.
