Punjab secures 2nd position in energy conservation

Punjab has secured the second position in energy conservation in the “state performance” category at the National Energy Conservation Awards-2025.

Punjab New and Renewable Energy Resources Minister Aman Arora received the award from President  Droupadi Murmu at a ceremony held at the Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi on Sunday.

Interacting with the media later, Arora said after winning the award, Punjab now stood among the top performers in the country in the field of energy efficiency.

Lauding the efforts made by the AAP government, Arora said, “We have installed 18,000 solar tube-well pumps in the rural sector and efforts are on to increase the number. Moreover, 185 energy-efficient motors have also been installed at Verka Plants under the MSME category.”
