Punjab: SIT grills Majithia for 7 hours in drug case
A special investigation team (SIT) headed by DIG Harcharan Singh Bhullar questioned SAD leader Bikram Singh Majithia in connection with a drug case for around seven hours at the Patiala Police Lines on Tuesday. He was grilled for over eight hours on Monday too.
Before entering the Police Lines where his questioning began at 11 am, Majithia told mediapersons that he would answer all questions asked by the SIT. “It is sheer political vendetta where the government is hell-bent on framing me,” he claimed.
SIT member Harcharan Bhullar said four persons were named in the FIR in the case and three of them were abroad. “We are already in the process of bringing them back to make them join the probe,” he said. “We will now approach the Supreme Court,” he added.
The SIT is probing a drug case against Majithia registered in December 2021 under the NDPS Act. Last week, a Bench led by Justice JK Maheshwari had directed Majithia to appear at the SIT headquarters in Patiala.
