The Punjab Government is all set to open 236 new Aam Aadmi Clinics, taking the total number of such public healthcare centres in the state to 1,117, besides equipping 250 medical teams with AI-enabled equipment to detect eye disorders.
Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr Balbir Singh on Tuesday said the initiative would improve public access to quality primary care. A recent patient feedback survey by the Punjab Development Commission revealed that 96 per cent of the patients had expressed satisfaction with the services offered at such clinics. He was speaking after presiding over a meeting with Civil Surgeons.
He directed Civil Surgeons to expedite the establishment of new Aam Aadmi Clinics and promptly initiate recruitment of doctors and other staff to ensure timely operationalisation of the clinics.
He said the primary healthcare network would receive a boost through the distribution of health kits to ASHA workers.
