A day after Tarun Vir Singh Lehal, son-in-law of Deputy CM Sukhjinder Randhawa, was appointed Additional Advocate General, Qadian MLA Fateh Jung Bajwa on Tuesday sought Randhawa’s resignation on moral grounds.
Urging party leader Rahul Gandhi and PPCC president Navjot Singh Sidhu to immediately remove the Deputy CM’s son-in-law as Additional Advocate General, Bajwa said it was the fag end of the government’s tenure so it would be difficult for the party to face people on these issues.
“Randhawa, along with other MLAs, had targeted me when my son Arjun was offered a government job on compassionate grounds. They had raised a hue and cry and termed it as nepotism. He owes an explanantion to the people of Punjab,” said the MLA, adding that the PPCC chief had been rightly questioning his party leaders who instead of serving the people of Punjab were serving their own families.
When Bajwa’s son was given the job in Punjab Police, the then ministers in the Capt Amarinder Singh government, Sukhjinder Randhawa, Tript Bajwa, Sukhbinder Sarkaria, Charanjit Channi and Razia Sultana besides Sunil Jakhar had raised a hue and cry.
