Raja Warring meets Punjab Congress in-charge Baghel in Delhi, refrains from commenting on Navjot Kaur Sidhu's suspension

Punjab Congress president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring on Thursday met Punjab in-charge Bhupesh Baghel at the AICC headquarters in Delhi, where he expressed grave concern over the rapidly deteriorating law-and-order situation in the state.

Warring said gang wars, targeted killings, extortion attempts, and daylight robberies have become “disturbingly routine,” adding that criminals operating from abroad as well as from inside jails are openly issuing threats to politicians, officials, and common citizens.

He accused both the AAP government in Punjab and the BJP at the Centre of remaining “mute spectators,” calling it not just administrative failure but “a shocking abdication of responsibility.”

Responding to questions while speaking with the media on the suspension of former Punjab MLA Navjot Kaur Sidhu from the Congress, Warring refrained from commenting further.

“I do not want to interfere in who is doing what,” he said. “I will only say that once a matter has been concluded, there should be no further discussion on it.”

Tensions within the Punjab Congress have surfaced between state president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring and former MLA Navjot Kaur Sidhu.

While Warring has maintained a cautious stance, refraining from commenting on internal party disciplinary matters, Sidhu’s suspension from the party has fueled speculation about differences in leadership style and influence.
