Rana Virender Singh on Friday took over as chairman of Punjab State Cooperative Bank Ltd, Chandigarh.
Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker Rana KP Singh; Cooperation and Jails Minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa; state Finance Minister Manpreet Singh Badal; Forest Minister Sadhu Singh Dharmsot; Health Minister Balbir Singh Sidhu; and chairman Subordinate Selection Board Raman Behal, besides a number of MLAs and senior party leaders were present.
The Cooperation and Jails Minister said the Punjab State Cooperative Banks mainly catered to the financial needs of farmers and rural folks, as majority of the 802 branches of the bank were in the rural areas.
He said the bank was launching numerous schemes and services to expand its business.
