Randhawa’s wife in fray from Dera Baba Nanak
The Congress has decided to field Jatinder Kaur, wife of Gurdaspur MP Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, as its candidate from the Dera Baba Nanak Assembly segment.
A bypoll has been necessitated after sitting MLA Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa won the Lok Sabha elections from the Gurdaspur parliamentary constituency.
There were no unexpected twists or turns to the script as her candidature was certain once she had made up her mind to step into the electoral ring. Randhawa’s dominance from this seat is so complete that he has not only won it on three occasions, he has also ensured no other Congress leader matches, or even comes close to matching it, his political stature.
