Close on the heels of the termination of PSPCL director Harjit Singh, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s technical advisor Ravi Chawla has resigned. He has been asked to put in papers over alleged delay in clearing files related to development works.

Chawla, who was appointed in June 2024 after his retirement as chief engineer, was responsible for clearing technical estimates of works in different departments.

Officials said complaints had been received that files were pending with him for long, delaying the execution of development works.

Following the complaints, the government directed him to resign. Now, the officials of different departments have been asked to clear estimates on their own, as the deadlines of different works were not being met.

The job of the technical advisor involved providing expert guidance on tenders, overseeing infrastructure projects, and ensuring adherence to technical standards and quality control in government projects.
