Reflection of an anti-Panthic mindset: Dhami

Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Raghbir Singh strongly condemned the assassination attack on Shiromani Akali Dal leader Sukhbir Singh Badal on Wednesday, calling for a thorough investigation into the incident.

Giani Raghbir Singh emphasized that the attack was not just on Sukhbir but on a ‘sewadar’ fulfilling his religious duties outside the Golden Temple. “We strongly condemn the incident and urge the Punjab Government to conduct a full investigation to identify those responsible,” he said.

Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee president Harjinder Singh Dhami expressed deep concern over the incident. He added that the attack, which occurred while Sukhbir was following Akal Takht’s order to complete his ‘tankhah’, was not only a reflection of an anti-Panthic mindset but also an insult to Akal Takht.

He appealed to the police to ensure safety of all Akali leaders while they carry out religious duties as directed by Akal Takht.
