A day after releasing the list of 250 best government schools in the national capital, Delhi Education Minister Manish Sisodia accused his Punjab counterpart Pargat Singh running away from the discussion by not releasing the list of state schools.

Reveal work done

CM Channi should release the best schools’ list. People have the right to know the govt’s work in the field of education. — Manish Sisodia, Delhi Deputy CM

He requested Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi to release the list of best government schools in Punjab. He said the people of Punjab had the right to know the Congress’ contribution in the field of education in Punjab in the past five years. He said while the Kejriwal government had worked rigorously on public education, the Congress government failed on the front.

Sisodia said Pargat Singh had nothing to demonstrate as the Congress in the past over four years of its rule didn’t focus on developing world-class infrastructure, teachers and school heads who’d received training in foreign countries, and improving results and students who get selected for IIT/JEE like the schools of Delhi.

“If the Congress government doesn’t release the list of best government schools, it will be a public acceptance of the fact that nothing has been done to fix the education system of Punjab in the last five years,” Sisodia said.

Meanwhile, AAP women’s wing carried out ‘Dhanyawad Kejriwal march’ across all districts on Monday to welcome party’s national convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s guarantee of giving Rs 1,000 a month to all women above 18 years of age. Senior party leader Sarabjit Kaur Manuke said the announcement was a step towards women empowerment.
