Reshuffle in top bureaucracy, 32 IAS officers shifted in Punjab

Chandigarh, April 16

A month after coming to power, the AAP government has finally ordered the first major reshuffle in the top bureaucracy in the state, transferring 32 IAS officers, including two at the level of Special Chief Secretary.

Senior IAS officer Ravneet Kaur has been posted as Special Chief Secretary-cum-Financial Commissioner, Cooperation, in addition to Special Chief Secretary, Parliamentary Affairs, and Principal Resident Commissioner (NRI Affairs), Punjab Bhawan, Delhi. Vijay Kumar Janjua has been posted as Special Chief Secretary, Jails. Anurag Agarwal will be the new Additional Chief Secretary-cum-Financial Commissioner, Revenue and Rehabilitation.

A Venu Prasad, Additional Chief Secretary to the CM, will hold the additional charge of Renewable Energy Sources.

Seema Jain is Additional Chief Secretary, Social Security, Women and Child Development, while Sarvjit Singh has been posted as Additional Chief Secretary, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare.

Raji P Shrivastava will be Additional Chief Secretary-cum-Financial Commissioner, Forests and Wildlife; KAP Sinha, Additional Chief Secretary-cum-Financial Commissioner, Taxation; Anurag Verma, Principal Secretary, Home Affairs and Justice; and Kakumanu Siva Prasad Financial Commissioner, Rural Development and Panchayats. At the Principal Secretary level, Vikas Pratap has been given the charge of Finance and Planning; Alok Shekhar School Education; Dhirendra Kumar Tiwari Water Supply and Sanitation; Tejveer Singh Power, Tourism and Cultural Affairs, Governance Reforms and Public Grievances; Jaspreet Talwar Higher Education and Languages; Hussan Lal Medical Education and Research; Dilip Kumar Employment Generation and Training, Industries and Commerce and Information Technology; Vivek Pratap Local Government and Raj Kamal Chaudhuri Sports and Youth Services.

Ajoy Kumar is Principal Secretary, Housing and Urban Development; Krishan Kumar, Principal Secretary, Water Resources and Mines and Geology; and VK Meena, Principal Secretary, Freedom Fighters. Vikar Garg is the Secretary, Transport; Sumer Singh Gujar, Secretary, Labour; Nilkanth S Avhad, Registrar of Cooperative Societies; Ajoy Sharma, Secretary, Health and Family Welfare and Rahul Tiwari, Secretary, Science Technology Environment.

Kamal Kishor has been posted Taxation Commissioner while Rajat Aggarwal is the Secretary, Personnel, in addition to the charge of General Administration and Coordination, and Vigilance. Varun Roojam is the Excise Commissioner. Malwinder Jaggi is Secretary, Civil Aviation and Information and PR.
