Members of the Purani Pension Prapati Front today took out a ‘mashal march’ from the district administrative complex demanding restoration of old pension scheme.

The protesters, who are protesting near Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s residence, said they had been urging the state government to implement the old pension scheme.

Members of the union said they had been preparing for this three-day morcha for the last one month.

They termed the notification issued by the Mann government earlier related to old- pension scheme as a ‘jumla’. They also flayed the pro-corporate policies of the Centre and the state government.

The AAP government had been making “false promises” to employees, said the protesters. Democratic Teachers’ Front leader Raghbir Singh Bhawanigarh said employees recruited since January 1, 2004, were united and would not leave any stone unturned to get their demand implemented.
