Roof collapse kills 2 kids in Moonak

Two children were killed, while four others sustained injuries after the roof of two rooms of their house collapsed in Moonak town of the district in the early hours today.

Sources said Munshi Ram and his family members were sleeping when theroof of their house collapsed suddenly.

Rinku (11), son of DC Ram, and Khushi (12), daughter of Sukhchain Singh (12), died while Ranjha, his wife Shindro Devi, brother Munshi Ram and DC Ram suffered serious injuries. They were admitted to Moonak civil hospital.

“Khushi and Rinku died on the spot when the roof collapsed. The house is very old and both rooms needed repair,” said Gurmeet Singh, Station House Officer, Moonak.
