Ropar: 3 of a family found dead

Three decomposed bodies have been found at a home in Power Colony here today.

The deceased have been identified as Harcharan Singh, his wife Paramjit Kaur and their daughter Charanpreet Kaur, an MBBS doctor who was posted as medical officer at Bhai Jaita Ji Civil Hospital in Anandpur Sahib.

Sources said Dr Charanjit Kaur had attended her last duty on the intervening night of April 9 to 10. A son of the deceased in his twenties and reportedly suffering from depression has gone missing.

Neighbours informed the police regarding stink emanating from the flat. Later, cops found maggot infested bodies with multiple wounds, following which Ropar SSP Sandeep Garg along with forensic experts reached the spot. A knife was also recovered from the spot.

The SSP said Harcharan was a retired teacher and living with his wife and two children in the flat. Nothing could be commented upon regarding the suspect, he said.
