The owner of Seerat Hospital Dr Amit Bansal was booked by the Vigilance Department on December 31, 2024 under Section 7, 7A, PC Act 1988 (Amendment) Act 2018. Bansal, a resident of Chandigarh, is running 22 de-addiction centres in Punjab. All 22 hospitals are being sealed sequentially.

During today’s action no patient was found in the hospital. The administration received full support from people living near the hospital. The local people had been making complaining to the district administration against the hospital.

“The licence of the hospital has been suspended immediately. The patients who were getting treatment from the hospital can go to a government hospital,” the administration said in a release.
