Ropar tech institute NIELIT deemed varsity

The National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT), Ropar, under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India, has been conferred the status of an institution deemed to be university. This announcement follows the issuance of a notification to this end under Section 3 of the UGC Act. The NIELIT Ropar is the main campus with its 11 constituent units at Aizawl, Agartala, Aurangabad, Calicut, Gorakhpur, Imphal, Itanagar, Kekri, Kohima, Patna and Srinagar. The NIELIT is the first organisation under MeitY to achieve deemed to be university status.
