At the Azizpur toll plaza, the user fee of truck and bus category has been revised up by Rs 5 for up-down journey on a single day. For car, jeep and van category, the rates remain the same.
NHAI project director Aashim Bansal said, “In Punjab and Haryana, user fee in more than 50 toll plazas has been revised. The revised rates, all across the country, will be applicable from April 1. The rates are revised annually in line with the Wholesale Price Index (WPI) based inflation under the National Highways Fee Rules, 2008. The rates of BOT (Toll) plazas are revised in September.”
User fee rates are calculated in accordance with National Highways Fee Rules, 2008, for Public Funded fee plazas (EPC/HAM/BOT-Annuity) and the then applicable fee rules and provision of Concession Agreement for BOT (Toll) fee plazas. The NHAI while calculating user fee takes into account factors like highway type, length, structures and bypasses.
