Rs 7.82-cr road projects linking CM’s village inaugurated

Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema on Wednesday inaugurated three road projects costing Rs 7.82 crore and connecting CM Bhagwant Mann’s native Satauj village with nearby areas.

These projects include a 4.30-km road from Satauj to Bir Kalan costing Rs 2.93 crore, 3.30-km road from Satauj to Dharmgarh costing Rs 2.37 crore and the 3.50-km road from Satauj to Tolewal at Rs 2.53 crore.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s mother Harpal Kaur was also present during the inauguration ceremony. Cabinet Minister also handed over cheques to the nearby villages. While Rs 65.62 lakh given to Ratta Khera villager for development works, Karyal village got a cheque for Rs 20 lakh.

Another cheque for Rs 30 lakh was given to the Rogla village panchayat. Addressing the gathering, Cheema said that the road projects would prove to be milestones in the economic and social development of the region.

He said the government would not compromise on the quality of work and that all projects would be completed within the stipulated time frame.

He added that the construction of these roads would significantly improve connectivity between villages, providing long-awaited relief to the residents.
