SAD president Sukhbir Singh Badal today appealed to the Central government to provide a financial package to the state so relief could be extended to people in the wake of floods, which have destroyed standing crops and damaged vital infrastructure.

He visited Aali Kalan and Baupur villages near Sultanpur Lodhi and spoke to farmers whose standing crop has been destroyed by flood waters.

At Baupur, Sukhbir said, “The Centre and the neighbouring states of Haryana and Rajasthan have not come forward to help Punjab during its time of need. It is unfortunate as both neighbouring states are supplied water from Punjab during their time of need.”
