After a reported consensus on the post of sarpanch at Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s native Satauj village, 19 km from Sunam, Harbans Singh was elected unopposed as sarpanch.

Sumeet Singh Dhillon, Sub-Divisional Electoral Officer, Sunam, confirmed this evening that Harbans Singh had been elected unopposed following the withdrawal of nomination papers by three persons. During his visit to Satauj village on October 3, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann had made an appeal to the people to elect village panchayats unanimously for all-round development and maintaining harmony in villages.
