‘Sasti Rasoi’ set for relaunch in Muktsar
The subsidised kitchen programme “Sasti Rasoi’’, initially launched in 2017 by the Congress government and closed in 2022 due to financial constraints, is set for a re-launch in Muktsar. The kitchen will now offer a meal consisting of rice and dal or vegetable for just Rs 20.
The District Red Cross Society will manage the kitchen, which aims to provide hygienic food to those in need at an affordable price. Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Tripathi said the kitchen would open soon at a labourers’ shed near Guru Gobind Singh Park along the Kotkapura road.
Jagmohan Singh Mann, District Welfare Officer and Red Cross Society Secretary, said the kitchen was nearly ready, with they just needed to hire cooks and other staff. The parking area at Mai Bhag Kaur Heritage Park is also being considered as another potential site for the project.
