School van driver dies, conductor injured in Ferozepur road accident

A driver of a school van died and conductor suffered severe injuries in a road accident near Golu Ka village in Guruharsahai.
At the time of the incident, there were no students in the school van.
The deceased has been identified as Varinder Singh, alias Rinku, a resident of Mohan Ke Hithar village, Guruharsahai.
Rinku was heading back after dropping the students at school around 7:30 am when a car coming from the opposite direction rammed into the school van.
Sources said the car was being driven by Sunita Rani, a resident of Pindi village, who was learning to drive the vehicle along with her husband Pawandeep. The entire incident was captured on CCTV.
After the accident, Sunita allegedly fled from the spot. Demanding arrest of the accused, school van drivers blocked the road. The dharna was lifted following an assurance given by Guruharsahai DSP Atul Soni to take strict action against the culprit.
The police have booked Sunita on the basis of CCTV footage and statement given by brother of the deceased under Sections 106, 281, 324 and 124 of the BNS at the Guruharsahai police station.
