After the report titled “Lone ‘shiksha provider’ for 69 students in Lambi school” appeared in these columns on July 19, the Education Department has sent one more teacher to Government Primary Smart School at Sehnakhera village in the Lambi Assembly segment here.

Notably, the school earlier had one ‘shiksha provider’ for 69 students of classes I to V and an education volunteer for 18 students enrolled in the pre-primary classes.

Earlier, a regular teacher was posted in this school, but she has taken maternity leave. In this situation, when the ‘shiksha provider’ had to go somewhere for office work, either the students were teaching one another or the education volunteer was teaching all the students in a single classroom.

Prabhjot Kaur, District Education Officer (Primary), Muktsar, said, “A teacher has been sent to the primary school at Sehnakhera village. Now, three teachers are posted there. Besides, one teacher has gone on a leave.”
