Schoolteacher 'molested' girl students in Ropar, allege parents
Ropar, August 5
A teacher has molested girl students of a local private school and sent obscene messages to them, alleged parents who complained to the school authorities today.
They claimed the school, instead of approaching the police, tried to hush up the matter, pleading that it would “tarnish the image of the school”.
The father of one of the girl students said when he and other parents told the school principal and teachers about the objectionable messages the teacher had sent, the principal said the teacher would tender an apology.
The parents threatened to protest and lodge a police complaint if legal and disciplinary action was not taken against the teacher by Monday morning. The teacher could not be contacted.
School principal Sangeeta Rani said, “I have informed the management about the matter and action will be taken against the teacher after looking into the complaints of students.”
