The Gyan Shakti think tank of Sapta Shakti Command, in collaboration with the Consumer Utility Trust Society (CUTS International), organised an insightful seminar titled “India’s Journey: Charting the Path to a Viksit Bharat” at Jaipur Military Station.

The seminar focused on the collaborative efforts of the military, academia, government, and other stakeholders in realising the vision of a “Viksit Bharat” (Developed India). Eminent economist and visionary Pradeep Mehta, Secretary General of CUTS International, delivered a comprehensive talk on India’s remarkable journey towards becoming the world’s fifth-largest economy.

He emphasised the importance of aligning efforts across multiple domains, including human capital development, economic reforms, green growth, and social infrastructure, to achieve this vision.

The discussions also highlighted the need for social cohesion and cooperation, in line with the government’s philosophy of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, and Sabka Prayas.” An engaging question-and-answer session followed, exploring critical aspects of India’s path towards becoming a Viksit Bharat.

Lieutenant General Manjinder Singh, Army Commander of the South Western Command, underscored the significance of coordinated efforts in defense and technology to realise the vision of a developed India. He also highlighted the role of military personnel and veterans in nation-building and commended the Government of India’s push for holistic development, stressing the importance of a “whole of nation” approach to achieve the vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047.
