SGPC chief Dhami inaugurates renovated gurdwara hall, printing press

Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) president Harjinder Singh Dhami on Monday inaugurated newly renovated sections of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Bhawan at Gurdwara Sri Ramsar Sahib.

The renovated projects included a hall, office of the publication department, Gurmat Literature House and a modern printing press for the publication of the “saroops” of Sikh scriptures.

Gurdwara Sri Ramsar Sahib is the place where fifth Sikh Guru Arjan Dev compiled the Adi Granth, which was later called the Guru Granth Sahib in its expanded form.

The Hall No. 4 at Sri Guru Granth Sahib Bhawan was renovated using modern techniques and the project was undertaken by Baba Kashmir Singh Bhuriwale.

Likewise, the publication department's office and Literature House were also rebuilt. This task was assigned to Baba Sucha Singh and Baba Satnam Singh of Qila Anandgarh.

Dhami said SGPC was the sole authorised body for the publication of the holy “saroops” of the Guru Granth Sahib. Elaborating on the main purpose of renovating the Bhawan, he said it was to streamline and enhance the publication and preservation processes of the holy “saroops”.
