The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has formed a seven-member committee to scrutinise the recent incidents that took place at the Golden Temple in which a person threw Gutka Sahib into holy sarovar and another incident in which a person had jumped over the safety grill to attempt sacrilege.

SGPC president Harjinder Singh Dhami issued orders at his office in this regard.

The committee includes Golden Temple Granthi Giani Gurminder Singh, head of Damdami Taksal Baba Harnam Singh Khalsa, head of Shiromani Panth Akali Buddha Dal Baba Balbir Singh, SGPC senior vice-president Raghujit Singh Virk, prominent Sikh scholar Dr Inderjit Singh Gogoani, SGPC members advocate Bhagwant Singh Sialka and Gurcharan Singh Grewal.

Meanwhile, the SGPC executive has nominated its president Harjinder Singh Dhami as member of the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC). A communication has been dispatched to the Gurdwara Election Board in this direction. — TNS
