Punjabi movie ‘Shooter’ maker moves Punjab and Haryana High Court

The producer of Punjabi movie “Shooter” has moved the Punjab and Haryana High Court challenging the suspension of the film’s exhibition by Punjab and Haryana on the grounds that the Central Board of Film Certification had given nod for its release.



Chandigarh, July 9

The producer of Punjabi movie “Shooter” has moved the Punjab and Haryana High Court challenging the suspension of the film’s exhibition by Punjab and Haryana on the grounds that the Central Board of Film Certification had given nod for its release.

The producer, Kewal Singh, sought the quashing of a notification dated February 10, 2020, issued by Punjab, and order dated February 20, 2020, by Haryana whereby the movie’s exhibition was suspended with immediate effect.

Referring to the orders, the producer submitted that “Shooter” was to be deemed to be uncertified film in the states for two months from the date of order/notification’s issuance and that the notification/order were without jurisdiction. — TNS
