Chandigarh, June 30
The Punjab and Haryana High Court today issued a notice of motion on two pleas by murdered Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala’s manager Shagan Preet Singh.
He had claimed “serious threats” from alleged gangsters Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar in his anticipatory bail plea in last year’s murder case of Youth Akali Dal leader Vikramjeet, alias Vicky Middukhera. The other petition was filed seeking directions for protection of life and liberty.
In the petitions placed before Justice Anoop Chitkara, Shagan Preet Singh had asked for the issuance of directions to Punjab and other respondents to provide him security on the grounds of facing a serious threat from Bishnoi, Brar and their accomplices. One of the petitions has been filed through counsel Gaurav Dutta, Kanika Ahuja, Manish Modi and Srishtti S Sharma. Both matters were argued by senior advocate Vinod Ghai.
