Patiala, February 2

Three close associates of former minister Bikram Singh Majithia — Kartar Singh, Talbir Singh Gill, both personal assistants, and Budh Singh, an aide and officer on special duty (OSD), today appeared before the special investigation team (SIT) investigating the drug case against the SAD leader. The three aides have not been named as accused in the case.

Majithia had also appeared before the SIT of Punjab Police last month. The former minister was summoned by the SIT led by Deputy Inspector General (Patiala range) Harcharan Singh Bhullar on January 16. As many as four persons, who remain around Majithia, were summoned by SIT today, of which three appeared.

The trio were questioned separately — Budh Singh was the first to appear before the SIT at 11 am and was questioned till 2.30 pm, following which Kartar Singh was grilled by the SIT for nearly two hours and later, Talbir Singh Gill was questioned for nearly an hour.
