The police have arrested six members of a gang involved in stealing of mobile phone tower equipment. Cops have reportedly recovered two country-made pistols with six live cartridges, two vehicles, 24 remote radio units of a mobile phone company and 151 kg of optical fibre from their possession.

SSP Sartaj Singh Chahal said those arrested were identified as Lovepreet Singh (26), Jashandeep Singh (22), Vicky Singh (23), Gursewak Singh (25), Balkar Singh (25) and Veerpal Singh (34). He said the suspects were involved in over 34 incidents of theft of such electronic devices in Sangrur, Patiala and Mansa districts. A case has been registered at the City police station, Sunam.
