SKM, BKU flay lathicharge on farmers at Sukhbir Badal's rally in Moga

Chandigarh, September 2

Samyukt Kisan Morcha leader and national president of All India Kisan Federation Prem Singh Bhangu has strongly condemned the lathicharge and use of water cannons on peacefully protesting farmers at Moga. “The act of police is unconstitutional and undemocratic which the Supreme Court has already affirmed in recent cases,” he said.

The farmers assembled to ask questions to SAD chief Sukhbir Singh Badal during his Moga visit but were not allowed by the police. He said farmers were well within their right to ask Sukhbir that why his party supported the farm laws when they were enacted. He demanded strict action against the cops responsible for the lathicharge. Condemning the police action, BKU (Ekta) leader Sukhdev Singh Kokri said none of the political parties was serious in solving the farming sector issues. — TNS
