Smuggler held with 1 kg heroin

Ferozepur, February 11

A team of sleuths from the police and the BSF, in a joint operation, nabbed a smuggler and seized 1 kg heroin.

SSP Saumya Mishra said a joint naka was laid by the two forces near Changa Rai Hithar (Cheebe Wala) village in the Guruharsahai area. “The police had received information of Sukhchain Singh and Mangal Singh, both residents of Changa Rai Hithar, receiving consignments of heroin from Pakistani smugglers,” she said, adding that a trap was laid to catch them during which Sukhchain Singh was nabbed.

After investigation, Sukhchain gave information regarding two 500 gm consignments of heroin, which the suspects had hidden in a field along the IB. Acting on the information the police recovered the said consignments.
