With the state government facing heat for being lax in testing Hazur Sahib returnees, the standard operating procedure (SOP) of handling persons entering the state has been put in place.
So far, 8,739 people from other states and 2,122 from abroad have declared to have returned to Punjab.
A couple of days ago, Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh had announced that anyone entering the state would be medically examined and quarantined before being allowed to go home.
