Jagdeep Singh of the BKU (Ugrahan) said, “The DEO is in the process of transferring one teacher to the school, but on a temporary basis. There are 200 students in the school and two more teachers need to be deputed here permanently. We have gheraoed the SDM office and will lift our protest only when required numbers of teachers are sent to the school.” Today, villagers first blocked Lehra-Patran Road and later, they gheraoed the SDM office.

DEO Kultaran Singh could not be contacted. Lehra SDM Navreet Sekhon said, “We are trying to convince the villagers to end their protest as the Education Department has transferred teachers to the school. However, the villagers are still demanding two more teachers.”
