Punjab Government sets up Brahmin Welfare Board

Accepting a four-year-old demand of the community, the Punjab Government has set up a Brahmin Kalyan Board in the election year. The state has around 35 lakh Brahmins.
The Governor, Punjab, issued a notification in this regard. Shri Brahmin Sabha, Punjab, has welcomed the decision.
The board will have seven members who will have a tenure of two years. The board will identify the needs and problems of the community and suggest measures for their redressal. It will also act as a bridge between the community and the government and help in maintaining peace and communal brotherhood.
