Stones of 6 more stadiums laid in Sangrur

A day after The Tribune highlighted how two Cabinet ministers Barinder Kumar Goyal and Aman Arora have laid foundation stone of 40 stadiums in three days in their respective constituencies, Arora launched the construction of stadiums in six more villages of Sunam Assembly constituency at a cost of Rs 1.83 crore.

These include stadiums being constructed at Rs 16.06 lakh in Chathe Sekhwan, Rs 34.33 lakh in Ubhaawal, Rs 35.23 lakh in Badrukhan, Rs 38.47 lakh in Bhamma Baddi, Rs 14.09 lakh in Bahadurpur and Rs 44.39 lakh in Duggan.

The stone-laying spree has invited the ire of Opposition leaders who are lamenting the slow pace of construction. Sandeep Jakhar, MLA from Abohar, said, “A stone was laid in my village Panjkosi too exactly six months ago by the local AAP incharge, but alas, the only progress so far is a demolished boundary wall.”
