If the party is serious about contesting the parliamentary elections, then its top leaders should stop infighting as factionalism will lead to defeat and it is the workers who have to face humiliation.

These were the views of a large number of Congress workers of all 9 Assembly constituencies under the Fatehgarh Sahib parliamentary constituency at Mission 2024 ‘Khuli Charcha’ held at Khamano today.

The meeting was presided over by state party in-charge Devendra Yadav, while PPCC president Amrinder Singh Raja Warring and Leader of Opposition Partap Singh Bajwa gave it a miss.

The party workers were called on the stage to express their views for the preparations of elections. A majority of the workers asked the Congress high command that discipline must be maintained in the party to strengthen it and strict action should be taken against leaders who make statements against the party and its policies.

Without naming Navjot Singh Sidhu, they demanded strict action against those who make statements in the media against the party and leaders. They said people were annoyed with the AAP and BJP, and the Congress could easily win if the party presented a united face.

Yadav said that the party would put up a united face and win all seats. He said no one would be allowed to break discipline and the suggestions of the workers would be conveyed to the Congress high command.

Amar Singh, MP, Harry Mann, in-charge for Fatehgarh Sahib seat, Shamsher Singh Dullo, former MP, Kuljit Singh Nagra and Gurkirat Singh Kotli along with other senior leaders were present.
