Secretary, Information and Public Relations Department and Punjab Mandi Board, Ramvir, today inspired the students of the School of Eminence, Nabha, to identify their inner strengths and work diligently to achieve their goals. He was interacting with the students as part of the Punjab Government’s innovative “School Mentorship programme”, launched to guide and motivate young minds.

Recalling his tenure as Deputy Commissioner of Patiala, Ramvir said he had visited nearly every village in the district and felt a deep connection with the students of the region. Urging them to ask questions and stay curious, he said, “Curiosity and inquiry are the first steps towards personality development and success.”

On the occasion, several students talked about their aspiration to join the civil services as IAS or PCS officers. Responding with practical advice, Ramvir emphasised the importance of cultivating discipline such as waking up early and balancing academics with sports to remain physically and mentally fit.

“There are limitless opportunities waiting for you,” he said. “But achieving these requires firm determination, consistent hard work and the willingness to step out of your comfort zone.”

Sangrur: Dr Akshita Gupta, Municipal Commissioner and Additional Deputy Commissioner, Phagwara, on Saturday visited the School of Eminence at Lehragaga and interacted with the students there. She motivated and mentored them towards academic excellence and personal growth as part of the Punjab Government’s “School Mentorship Scheme”.

Addressing around 100 students of classes IX and XII, she shared four key principles with the students to stay focused for enriching and fulfilling their academic journey. First, clear your doubts by asking questions, which shows that you are thinking. Don’t hesitate — curiosity is the first step towards learning. Second, do focused study for at least three hours daily and be consistent, she added.

Third, study for yourself, not due to external pressure.

Dr Gupta talked about her own inspiring journey – from her early education in a small town to securing a top rank in NEET and Civil Services examination.
