Sukhbir Badal undergoes foot surgery
Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal underwent a minor corrective surgery of his right foot at the Post-Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) on Thursday morning.
He had suffered a fracture in his foot during a fall on the Akal Takht premises on Wednesday. SAD spokesperson Daljeet Singh Cheema said the corrective surgery was needed to fix the fractured bone so that it could bear weight.
Sukhbir Badal had visited the Akal Takht Secretariat to seek early decision from the Jathedar on the quantum of punishment ("tankhah") as he was declared a "tankhaiya" two and a half months ago on August 30.
