TA bill not cleared, irate SDE opens fire at employee

A Sub-Divisional Engineer (SDE) of the Sewerage Board today allegedly opened fire following a tiff with a clerk over the delay in the clearance of his travelling allowance (TA) bills. The police have registered a case and conducting raids to arrest the accused.
Gurbhajan Singh, SHO, Sangrur city, “The accused, Sudarshan Singh, opened fire from a pistol. The bullet hit the feet of clerk Ashok Kumar and another employee Baldev Singh. We have registered a case under Section 307 IPC and provisions of the Arms Act. Raids are on to arrest him.”
The office of Sewerage Board is located in the heart of the city and after hearing a gunshot, area residents converged on the spot. Ashok Kumar was taken to a local hospital.
“Sudarshan Singh is posted in Barnala. Today, he came to Sangrur office with some persons and opened fire without any valid reasons,” said Ashok.
