Teacher held on molestation charge

The Khuikhera police arrested a teacher posted at Katehra village school after a minor girl student alleged he had molested her. For the past two days, people have been holding a protest outside the school, demanding action against the teacher. Fazilka District Education Officer had formed an inquiry panel to ascertain facts.

DSP Kanwalpal Singh said villagers and the girl’s parents had gone to the school with a complaint on which the Education Department initiated action. A complaint was lodged last evening.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
