Team visits villages to check farm fire cases
A senior official said no field fire was detected during the visit
A team of the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) visited villages in the Malout subdivision last night to inspect the current status of stubble burning. The local SDM and DSP accompanied the team.
A senior official said no field fire was detected during the visit. “However, the CAQM’s written report is awaited,” he added.
Notably, the CAQM had recently expressed concern over the rise in stubble-burning incidents in Muktsar and Fazilka districts.
Meanwhile, the Muktsar district police have registered over 70 FIRs this season against those who set paddy stubble on fire.
