Two days after The Tribune highlighted rising school dropout ratio of girls in 10 villages, including Dhindsa, Khanpur and Gazipur, as the nearest senior secondary school is located about 14 km away, Patiala MP Dharamvira Gandhi has promised to provide a bus for ferrying students to the school.

He said currently he was busy attending the Lok Sabha session and soon after returning to Patiala, he would use MPLADS fund and provide a bus for ferrying students of the villages to a senior secondary school located in Rajpura.

“It is disturbing to note that even after 77 years of Independence, girls are dropping out of school because there is no provision of transport or a senior secondary school nearby. A bus service is an immediate relief, which will be provided soon.”
