Three associates of Landa Harike nabbed in brief encounter

Tarn Taran police have arrested three operatives of gangster turned terrorist Lakhbir Singh alias Landa Harike after a brief encounter.

One of them was injured in the incident. He suffered bullet injury in the leg and was admitted in the hospital. He was identified a Jaskaran Singh while other two were Harminder singh and Harman Singh.

Atul Soni, DSP said that they had shot at a farmer, Satnam Singh, in Makhu. The police got a tip off that they were in Tarn Taran area following which they were intercepted at a naka.

But the accused took their vehicle in the field and started firing at the police party. In retaliatory fire in self defense,  Jaskaran was injured. The police recovered a pistol from their possession.
