Three drug smugglers rearrested over BKI link
A day after the arrest of three members of the Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) module from Bihar, the city police have taken their three accomplices on remand from Amritsar Central Jail.
Those taken into police custody are: Gurbax Singh, Joban Singh and Mandeep Singh, alias Bhola. They were lodged in the jail in connection with drug cases.
The names of these persons cropped up during the interrogation of Karandeep Yadav (21), Mukesh Kumar (29) and Sajan Singh (24), who were arrested from the Madhepur police station area in Bihar while they were trying to flee to Nepal.
Sources said Bhola was the kingpin. He introduced Karandeep, Mukesh and Sajan to other members of the gang that had been active in cross-border smuggling for the past two years.
