Three-year-old ‘rescued’ from father’s house
Abohar, February 24
A three-year-old child, Adaab Singh, who was allegedly kidnapped from his maternal grandparents’ house in Sriganganagar on January 22, has been rescued from his grandparents’ house in Chandigarh. He has been united with his mother Harman Kaur. Adaab’s father Vikramjit Singh of Chakeria, Mansa, who was named as the main accused in kidnapping and got a stay against arrest from a court, has joined the investigation.
Was ‘kidnapped’
- A case was registered on January 22 on the statement of Amrinder Singh, resident of Sriganganagar, against Vikramjit Singh and others on charges of kidnapping his nephew Adaab
- About 2 hours after the incident, two suspects travelling in a car were held by Sangaria police who had already handed over Adaab to his father Vikramjit Singh
- Vikramjit and Harman were married 6 years ago. Due to a rift, Harman had come to her parents’ house few months back
The boy was presented before the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) where Chairman Joginder Kaushik ordered to hand over the child to mother for 10 days. During this time, if the estranged couple does not reach a permanent agreement, CWC will take the final decision regarding the child’s custody.

Vikramjit and Harman were married 6 years ago. There was reportedly a rift between the couple due to which Harman had come to her parents’ house.
