AICC general secretary organisation KC Venugopal today said he was not aware of any committee being formed to look into the Punjab Congress affairs but added the party was watching the situation in the state and would take a call on it.

“This is strictly an organisational issue. Internally, we are watching the situation in Punjab and definitely the party high command will take a call on that. I am not aware of any committee being formed for the purpose,” he said amid an open war of words between Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh on the one hand and his former Cabinet colleague Navjot Singh Sidhu on the other.

Sidhu has been attacking the CM for not doing enough to bring to book the perpetrators of the 2015 firing incidents in Faridkot when people were protesting desecration of a religious text. MLA Pargat Singh has rallied behind Sidhu.

Rajya Sabha MPs Partap Bajwa and SS Dullo have also been attacking the CM on a range of issues.
