Tragedy in Mansa: Punjab Roadways bus crushes 2 sisters; father, brother critical

A Punjab Roadways bus ran over three school-going children and their father in Jhuneer town of Mansa district this morning.

While two girls died on the spot, their father and younger brother sustained serious injuries in the accident.

The deceased have been identified as Seema Kaur (8) and Meena Kaur (15), residents of Jhuneer. Their father, Binder Ram, and brother were rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition for immediate treatment.

Meanwhile, the bodies of the deceased girls were taken to the Sardulgarh hospital by ambulance for post-mortem examination. The police have impounded the Punjab Roadways bus (registration number PB31P9697) and initiated an investigation into the incident.

Local residents expressed grief over the tragedy, demanding stricter enforcement of traffic safety measures in the area.
